Imagine a better local council...

I have been seeing signage around Perth recently that advertises a newer, more progressive and renewed local council for the City of Vincent through the Imagine Vincent campaign. Other local councils wanting to signal a change and promotes getting you, the people involved by providing the stage to voice opinions, wants and needs. Recently I was talking to a Leederville local and found out that once again, the local council is trying to suck money out of people in the form of paid parking. When the 1 hour free parking rule was introduced, there was a sense that the council was representing a sense of trust in the community, although the new rule proposes that people enter their car registration numbers to assist parking intpectors in weeding out all those criminals who have accidentally parked 2 minutes over the one hour.

North Perth has introduced a new paid street parking rule for locals and visitors alike, but trying to get money from people through parking is not only hypocritical based on this new campaign but really rules out the feeling that the council is with the people of Perth? Im all for rules and sticking by them, but not having trust in people to stick by said rules is cruel and spiteful. This shows that the local council has the power and is using it to make money out of the community and they are expecting us to trust them with future decitions. I think not!
